Wesport: The Immortal Seed of the Kingdom
By Salazar Faeye, Royal Archivist, 193 SE
"Wesport remains one of the most vital cities on the Ring’s western arc, both for its age and position. Established shortly after the subduing of the great Dragon Threxion by the first Lord of Wes, the city rose atop the cliffs as a stronghold and later flourished as a center of trade, governance, and learning. The royal bloodline traces its right to rule directly to the ancient pact - A tale well-known all around the Ring.
Two heads of the great Dragon bent in front of the first Lord, but the third remained adamant. To secure their safety, the two heads entombed their brother-head in molten iron.
During the Invasion, Threxion proved to be a vital element in the survival of the Kingdom. Nearly the entirety of the population was wiped on the mainland, but Wes remained mostly intact aside from the Landbreach.
Since then, Wesport's strength has been tied to its role as the western station of the Comet Line - a long overseas railway connecting the Mainland and Capital of the Kingdom. While sea routes are more affordable generally, the Comet is still a widely used method of exporting goods from the Island.
Though the recent war with Neo-Weslandia has reduced maritime traffic, the Comet continues to run, keeping goods and people moving, especially now that many adventurers see the situation on Wes as an opportunity to get rich and see Threxion with their own eyes.
Wesport endures... As it always has."
